Point your Webflow contact form at a backend you control

You can keep your Webflow form exactly as designed and send its submissions to FormThunder. Open the Form block's settings, set the action to the FormThunder submit URL and the method to POST, then add your access key as a hidden field. Each submission is stored and emailed to you, and you can add webhooks or Slack on Pro.

The Webflow code

  1. Select the Form Block in the Designer and open its settings. Set Action to the URL below, and Method to POST.
  2. Drag an Embed element inside the form and paste the hidden fields below.
  3. Publish the site and send a test. Custom actions only run on the published site, not in the Designer.

Replace YOUR_ACCESS_KEY with your free key. It's public by design, so it's safe in client code.

Notes for Webflow

  • A custom action means Webflow no longer handles the form, so its Success and Error states won't appear. The redirect field takes over: create a thank-you page and point at it.
  • Rename each field under its Input settings. Webflow's Name setting becomes the name attribute, and therefore the label in your email.
  • Webflow's reCAPTCHA setting relies on its own form handling. Use FormThunder's hCaptcha with /client/script.js instead.
  • Check your Webflow plan includes the Embed element. If it doesn't, ask your AI to generate the whole form as custom code for your plan's code area.

Will this count against Webflow's form limits?

Submissions go straight to FormThunder, so they don't reach Webflow's form handling at all.

Can my AI set this up in Webflow?

It can create the form and give you the key and exact values. You paste those into the Designer, unless your agent has its own Webflow access.
